The franchise is now set to yet impress us again with the next release from the brand: Asus Zenfone 8 series. The company had already confirmed the next series of its flagship model and even released a teaser image on its Twitter handle.
There is a lot of rumor mongering about the variants that could be either a vanilla model or a Pro variant or even both. Although last year in the series there was a regular model and an upgraded variant but may be this time, the brand could also go for a “mini” variant which could take the 2021 series to a three-model that is a regular version, a pro version, and a mini version. With further developments taking place, it looks like there will be no pro model.
Talking about the design of the latest to be launched, it seems like the iconic flip camera, which was present in the Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 7 model, will not be there in the latest edition. As per a teaser image shared by Asus reveals that the model will have a left-aligned display cutout for the selfie camera, so there will be a need for the flip camera. Also, as there is no information shared about the Pro variant by the brand so we are not sure if the flip camera will be present in the Pro variant or not.
Talking about the dimension, the phone appears to have a height of 148 mm and a width of 69 mm, which makes it smaller than other android phones but roughly the size of the vanilla iPhone 12. Also, it is confirmed by Asus that the Zenfone 8 will have a headphone jack. The phone could have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the phone is extremely fast and powerful and will support even 5G connections. If sources are to be believed, then the Zenfone 8 could have a 120Hz display refresh rate, full HD+ resolution. The Pro model could have a quad-cam model setup on the back and the vanilla model to have a dual-cam model.
When the Asus 6 was launched, at $499, the base level was in the same price range as OnePlus. Then came the Zenfone 7 series, and the prices of the phone shot up in the sky with prices of nearly $ 847 and $968 for the Zenfone 7 and the Zenfone 7 Pro. We can expect Asus to not increase for the 8 series in these tough times, at least in the vanilla model, and if it wants to grab a high price for its model, then it can later do it with its Pro variant. Also, it would not be wise to increase the prices of the phone further as it would hamper its demand. But whatever the prices will be, we will find out on May 12 after the phone officially launches.
